Is an Online Consultation Actually Enough to Assess My Cat's Health?
It’s a very common question that new clients have, and a good one.
Yes, for most health problems in general. A detailed video consultation with a licensed veterinarian can determine a lot: how your cat moves, how her coat looks, her breathing pattern, how much weight she’s lost, the clarity of her eyes and her behavior are all visible on video. When taken together with a comprehensive health history you’ll provide us with before your session, it will give our vets a solid platform for you to enable them to accurately advise you.
Online consultation is very useful for: preventative care, vaccination planning, diet advice, early assessment of symptoms, chronic condition monitoring, second opinions and post-visit follow-up.
But it will not supplant traditional diagnostic methods, like blood tests, X-rays or ultrasounds, which still require a physical clinic. In many cases, though, our vets can let you know if the tests are necessary or not, and you won’t have to pick up that stressed out cat.
